RLD (Rambus Lighting Division) produces Microlens light guides with customized optical patterns injection molded to them, so that through our proprietary process with LEDs we are able to direct the light wherever the customer needs it.  V. Rambus LED Lighting Division is seeking an intern to assist in Engineering. The ideal candidate is a junior or senior undergraduate in mechanical engineering that is continuing on to complete a master’s program. Hands on experience with tools and working with hardware is a must. This particular internship’s focus is on mechanical engineering design using Solidworks. Typical work hours are flexible around student class schedules and range around 15 to 20 hours per week throughout the college years.


Essential Functions:


  • Assist staff members/department manager with projects
  • Testing and data acquisition on lab equipment
  • Microscopy analysis using various test equipment methods
  • Solidworks and Solidworks simulation
  • Machine component design

Additional Information:


Our focus is on optics/LEDs where we design an optical pattern using a software program; machine the parts necessary, then produce an acrylic light guide (the optical pattern is placed on the acrylic) which when placed next to a line of LEDs; extracts and guides the light wherever and however we need to manipulate it to shine.


We are a state of the art; scientific facility. We provide fresh fruit, yogurt, cheese, snacks and drinks free to our staff and are located in Brecksville.


Salary: $15.00 an hour
