Rambus is currently hiring a full time Digital Logic Design Engineer to work in our Chapel Hill, NC location. The successful candidate will join a fast paced, team-oriented work environment in developing high-speed cutting edge Physical Layer products. Candidate is expected to have experience in digital logic design. In this position you will play a key design role in developing RTL for high speed 400G Ethernet applications.



  • Develop micro-architecture and RTL design for digital components in IP’s and products
  • Generating soft-macros (RTL) to be used in test-chip and SoC product designs
  • RTL design and verification in Verilog, RTL linting, clock domain crossing (CDC) analysis, design integration, synthesis, DFT, timing analysis and closure
  • Support Protocol validation activities
  • Contribute to design flow and methodology development
  • Contribute to overall System design, verification and validation of complete system



  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering with at least 5+ years of experience in Logic design, Micro architecture definition
  • Experience with IEEE Ethernet standard 802.3 for 10G/40G/100G/200G/400G (MAC, RS, MII, PCS, PMA and PMD sublayers)
  • Experience with IEEE, OIF and ITU standards is a plus
  • Knowledge of OIF FlexE is a plus
  • Expertise in SERDES protocols and peripheral component interconnect such as PCIe and SATA.
  • Experience with Cyclic Redundancy check and Forward Error Correction
  • Experience in PHY-level protocol test suite development and integration with link layer controllers
  • Experience working with multiple clock domains
  • Experience with synthesis flow
  • Experience working in a multi-site environment
