Rambus is hiring (Senior) Director of Product Management to oversee and take the responsibility of Product Management across Payments and Ticketing groups. The existing product managers in these groups will report to the person.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, passionate individual who lives and breathes product management (and product marketing) with particular interest and expertise in payment, ticketing and retail business. The candidate must have a solid experience with product management of software products. As a head of product management, she/he will be looking to take full ownership of roadmap, revenue growth strategies, new product concepts, investment business case development to delight customers and grow into new, profitable markets over the world. The candidate will set the priorities with the product management team and with engineering teams related to products taking into account customer and market needs.






The candidate will have experience in most of the following areas:



  • Experience to lead a team of senior members
  • Track record demonstrating leadership and execution to product delivery plans
  • Experience in software product management and product lifecycle management
  • Experience in software engineering, preferably with Java and application servers
  • Understanding of the payment industry and technologies used in this domain
  • Understanding of the ticketing industry and technologies used in this domain
  • Understanding of the retail market
  • Demonstrated capability to build and execute on strategic roadmaps by integrating customer feature requests, emerging market/competitive needs and business priorities into a holistic view
  • Track record of delivering great products that customers are delighted to use
  • Understanding of user experience design
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple simultaneous R&D/marketing activities across multiple organizations and geographies
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills to sell your ideas internally to executive management team, and externally to customers and analysts
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and cross-functionally with management, R&D, product management, marketing, technical sales, finance/contracts and sales teams
  • Rapid adaptation to new, dynamic markets with an ability to self-educate and be entrepreneurial when needed, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities


Detailed Responsibilities include:



  • Defining the strategy and roadmaps for Rambus payment and ticketing products
  • Leading a team of product managers
  • Authoring and maintaining product requirement documents that provide a defined engineering development target based on market requirements
  • Prioritizing target markets, customers and features for specific products
  • Manage the full product lifecycle process
  • Fostering and sustaining a strong relationship with product engineering to drive alignment with overall product goals
  • Developing and model market-appropriate pricing models in conjunction with product marketing
  • Identifying new market opportunities that can leverage our products to develop new revenue sources
  • Analyzing emerging markets, evaluating investment concepts and building analytically sound business cases for investment
  • Working actively with the entire organization to ensure happy customers, providing high-level support for sales efforts, including white papers, sales training and tools
  • Interfacing with our varied customers to understand their strategies, gather their requirements and ensure that our products continue to play a key role in their success and vision
  • Engaging customers frequently to maintain product influence and have go-to market relationships for validation of ideas




  • Relevant bachelor’s and/or master’s degree
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience
  • Team leading and person management experience
  • Good knowledge of payment and ticketing technologies
  • Good understanding of the retail market
  • Broad IT knowledge and preferably background in programming (Java)
  • Excellent speaking and writing skills in English
  • Ability to communicate technical issues/limitations/etc. to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to write whitepapers and other product collateral
