Looking for a highly-experienced signal integrity engineer to perform frequency and time-domain analysis for signal and power integrity in 112G/56G SerDes PHY. This is a highly impactful position under the Solutions Architecture team, Memory and Interfaces Division. Will participate in IP generation and technology evangelization and contribute towards new product initiatives leveraging this critical IP. Must be a team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be self-motivated and detail-oriented and have the ability to work with peers across groups and projects.



  • Formulate power supply budget and analyze bumpout for SerDes PHY
  • Provide accurate package and channel models for link analysis
  • Design BGA ballout for optimal next-end and far-end crosstalk isolation
  • Perform channel analysis using IBIS-AMI model or Matlab model
  • Analyze link performance using COM method
  • Participate in silicon prototyping of 112G/56G PHY in advanced 7/10-nm FinFET processes. Assist with silicon debug and evaluation. Correlate PHY model with measurement results.
  • Generate innovative solutions that can be brought to market and protected by patents
  • Participation in technology evangelization through customer presentation, conference and journal publications



  • MS or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5 to 10+ years of industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of equalization techniques, signal integrity, transmission lines, electromagnetic theory, S-parameters, noise analysis, and BER analysis is required
  • Experience with NRZ and PAM4 signaling in high-speed and low-power serial links is a major plus
  • Experience with Custom and Analog EMIR and ESD analysis is desirable. Experience with IBIS-AMI model generation is also desirable.
  • Requires experience with the following tools: HFSS, ADS, Matlab/Simulink, Cadence Virtuoso, Hspice/Spectre. Shell scripting and programming experience are highly valuable.
  • Must be able to work with a diverse team of specialists and understand overall tradeoffs in creating complex, high performance systems
