Overview

Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider making data faster and safer, is seeking to hire an exceptional Reliability Engineer (Principal) to join our Operations team in San Jose. In this role, you will be working with some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world developing products that make data faster and safer.  

 

Rambus offers a flexible work environment, embracing a hybrid approach for most office-based roles. Employees are encouraged to spend an average of at least three days per week onsite, allowing for two days of remote work.  

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end reliability tasks (plan, design, test, analysis, report) and demonstrate strong initiatives to above and beyond for New Product Introduction.
  • Risk assessment for Design, Process, Packaging, and Test Flow changes and provide Qualifications for changes.
  • Drive failure analysis to root causes and implementation of corrective actions by interacting with cross-function teams, design, validation, packaging, PE/TE, etc.
  • Define On-going Reliability Monitoring for production.
  • Collaborate with foundries and package houses (OSATs) to assess, characterize, and improve product quality and reliability
  • Reviewing and understanding reliability test results and make appropriate engineering judgement and decisions based on data, and drive appropriate action,

Qualifications

  • M.S/Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in semiconductor IC Quality & Reliability, Validation, PE/TE etc. relevant fields, and familiar with JEDEC qualification standards.
  • Experience with Semiconductor failure models, mechanisms, and failure analysis techniques.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action to fix quality and/or reliability issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills while interacting with suppliers, customers, and internal staff.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor packaging process is a plus.
  • Knowledge of PMIC circuits and devices including switching and linear regulators, drivers, references, ADC, OTP/MTP is a plus.
  • Knowledge of DDR, MRDIMM (DB and RCD) and high-speed Digital products is a plus.
  • Ability to independently learn and collaborate for problem-solving.

Rambus offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, bonus, equity, matching 401(k), employee stock purchase plan, comprehensive medical and dental benefits, time-off program, and gym membership.  

 

The US salary range for this full-time position is $132,800 to $246,600. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions.
