Overview

Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider, is seeking to hire a exceptional Layout Designers  to join the DDR interface team in Johns Creek, GA. Candidates will be joining some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop products that make data faster and safer.  

As a Principal Layout Designer, the candidate will be reporting to the Analog Engineering Director. This position is for an experienced layout designer who will work with the Johns Creek, GA design team and will interface with other locations as needed. The candidate will be responsible for the large block designs, chip level & block level floorplanning, and coordination of layout execution across different geographies while handling high-speed mixed signal designs. 

Rambus offers a flexible work environment, embracing a hybrid approach for the majority of our office-based roles. We encourage employees to spend an average of at least three days per week working onsite, allowing for two days of remote work.

Responsibilities

  • High speed, high performance, and high-quality layout designs  
  • Running initial device placement and considering design requirements to achieve best in class performance 
  • Assembling macro level and chip level layouts 
  • Floorplanning bumps and coordinating with package team 
  • Fixing EM/IR issues in layout 
  • Planning for and fixing DRC, antenna, density, DFM issues proactively 
  • Coordinating with schematic designers online/offline and ensuring the layout execution for team 
  • Tracking and managing progress for layout activities and making sure the deliverables are executed on time. 
  • Provide reviews and continuously reviewing layout quality. 
  • Feeding back layout issues to the design team and ensuring high quality results 

Qualifications

  • 10+years of experience with minimum of 2 tapeouts completed as the lead layout designer 
  • Having led a team of layout designers for at least 4 projects. 
  • Cadence Virtuoso & Layout XL 
  • LVS, DRC, Antenna, ERC, Density, Fill, EMIR 
  • BE/ME/Equivalent in Electronics/Microelectronics/VLSI

Rambus offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, bonus, equity, matching 401(k), employee stock purchase plan, comprehensive medical and dental benefits, time-off program, and gym membership.

 

The US salary range for this full-time position is $105,700.00 to $196,300.00.  Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions.
