Overview

Rambus, a premier Chip, and Silicon IP provider is seeking to hire an exceptional Sr. Manager/Director of Business Development to join our Marketing and Operations team. The selected candidate will be collaborating with some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop products within the Rambus Silicon IP Business Unit.  

  

The candidate will be responsible for driving regional business growth in the APAC region by identifying new market opportunities and establishing strategic ecosystem relationships in the target market segments for the Rambus Silicon IP BU. This position will be based in Taiwan.   

 

Rambus offers a flexible work environment, embracing a hybrid approach for the majority of our office-based roles. We encourage employees to spend an average of at least three days per week working onsite, allowing for two days of remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Identify emerging trends, perform extensive market analysis, evaluate competitive landscape, collect customer requirements, review in-house capabilities, and develop an insightful thesis leading to new product development initiatives reconciled with the BU strategy and Company’s goals. 
  • Establish strategic partnerships with ecosystem stakeholders including CSP’s, OEMs, ODMs, and partners to create synergistic win-win opportunities in the target segments: Automotive, Edge, 5G, Networking, Cloud, and IoT segments driven by AI. 
  • Create a pipeline of new business opportunities, evaluate ROI, and prioritize opportunities that align with the BU & Company’s objectives. 
  • Engage with leading customers to understand their future roadmaps and requirements 
  • Build and expand relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers at prospective customers and partners. 
  • Provide thought leadership by representing Rambus at various conferences, standards committees, market analysts, press etc. 
  • Develop an end-to-end strategy including market sizing, target segments, value proposition, GTM, pricing models, and ROI for new product initiatives. Influence & persuade cross-functional stakeholders with data-driven insights and recommendations. 
  • Establish strong cross-functional stakeholder relationships within the company including product management, sales, marketing, engineering, marcom to support your initiatives. 
  • Understand technology & IP licensing models and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the Company. 
  • Track and analyze business development KPIs and metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and initiatives, identifying areas for optimization and continuous improvement. 
  • Influence short and long-term strategy by feeding market intelligence back to the internal stakeholders on key market developments, new feature requirements, competitive information, product and technology gaps. 
  • Contribute to sales lead generation. Help qualify and identify lead customers. Drive new leads opportunities with/handover to sales.  
  • Drive effective joint business planning and execution with partners. 

Qualifications

  • High energy, self-motivated, and go-getter individual with 5-10 years of experience in a business development, technical sales, marketing, or IP licensing role in the semiconductor industry.  
  • Broad understanding of Rambus target segments such as Data Center, Edge, Automotive, & IoT driven by AI. Deep understanding of semiconductor technologies, and security key applications and industry requirements. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships at all levels of an organization including a strong pre-existing network at the Executive level, Engineering, Product and Procurement. 
  • Track record of driving growth by developing new business initiatives and translating them into new revenue streams in new segments. 
  • Substantial experience in intellectual property monetization, preferably in design licensing.  
  • Demonstrates the ability to explain complex concepts and technologies in a simple yet effective manner. 
  • Experience doing business with large international companies, and willing to travel on a regular basis. 
  • Fluent in English & Mandarin 
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, data analysis, and project management skills.  
  • Strong presentation, inter-personal, verbal and written communication skills.
