Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider, is seeking to hire an exceptional Lead MTS to join our CAD team in Bangalore. Candidates will be joining some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop products that make data faster and safer.


As a Lead MTS – CAD Engineering, the candidate will be reporting to Senior Manager - CAD Engineering and is a Full-Time position. CAD Engineering is involved in developing flow/methodology dealing with advanced nodes (14nm, 12nm, 11nm, 7nm, 6nm, 5nm) using best in class EDA tools, custom tool/automation and foundry PDK. Being part of CAD Engineering team, you will be working with worldwide design team for driving PD (Physical Designing) CAD, RTL2GDS flow/methodology for complex digital blocks used in Memory interface (DDR/GDDR/HBM) and high speed SerDes IPs in advanced nodes. Apart from Digital Block implementation CAD, you will be also driving CAD flow/methodology for multimillion gate SOC/Testchip design.


  • Drive and implement specific Digital Design Automation (DDA) flows such as
    • Synthesis, PNR, STA, LEC, Clock Tree, Low Power (UPF), color aware and DPT/MPT design
    • Parasitic Extraction for cell level flow, extraction corners
    • Physical verification - DRC/LVS/DFM
    • Knowledge and hands-on experience in handling RTL, Verilog, LEF, DEF, .LIB, GDS, CDL, SDC, UPF
    • Knowledge and hands-on experience in dealing with Standard cell libraries, GPIO, IO ring, isolation cells, level shifter, etc.
    • Electrical verification like IREM (Voltas, Apache Redhawk)
    • CAD methodologies for Digital on Top, Analog on Top, and block builds (Digital) in Analog Mixed Signal Design
  • Drive Testchip/SOC implementation interfacing between Digital and Analog/Mixed signal IPs
  • Develop flows automation, methodologies to improve productivity and efficiency
  • Interface/work with custom CAD engineer in CAD Engineering team on PDK and flows required for DDA flow
  • Debug flow issues and tapeout support to PD Design teams for synthesis, PNR, STA, LEC, LVS, DRC, PERC and IREM
  • Responsible for PDK evaluation, setup, customization, and flows definition, IPQA
  • Maintain DDA CAD infrastructure, CAD project environment and support in chip finishing/ tapeout tasks


  • Good knowledge Synthesis, PNR, STA and RTL-to-GDS Design and Development flow in Cadence Innovus and Synopsys ICC environment
  • Physical verification in Mentor Calibre environment
  • STA in Primetime, Tempus and Liberate tool environment
  • Experience in CTS, STA of complex data/clock path, PVT corners, AOCV/POCV/SOCV de-rates
  • Understanding of DFT interface and modes in PNR is a plus
  • Good knowledge on EDA Tools and Methodologies in Digital Design and Development flow
  • Good understanding of standards and formats like Verilog, LEF, DEF, SPEF, GDS, OAS, OA, .LIB, LVF, etc.
  • Good knowledge on scripting/automation skills – PERL, TCL, C-Shell, Python, Makefile, etc.
  • Good knowledge on Data management aspects using Methodics/ICManage/Perforce/SVN etc.
  • Good knowledge of advanced process nodes such as 14nm/11nm/7nm/6nm/5nm FinFet technologies
  • Understanding of Analog Mixed Signal Design flows and methodologies is a plus
  • Understanding of LSF cluster, Job submission and monitoring is a plus
  • Understanding of tool License features and basic license status monitoring is a plus
